URGENT: This is a reprint of an article issued last month. We are regularly receiving telephone calls and emails concerning a problem caused by a Windows 10 update. If your VIEW system has Basler GigE cameras, this situation may impact you. This article explains the cause of the problem and how you can fix it.
After a Windows Update is installed, Windows 10, on some systems may have inoperable Basler GigE cameras. Windows Update may uninstall or alter the Basler Ethernet driver required by the camera. This issue was recently seen during the August Windows 10 version 1903 updates. Running the Basler Pylon driver and selecting Repair may fix the issue. Otherwise uninstalling and reinstalling Pylon will fix the issue.
Symptoms: VMS starts up with no camera errors but the video screen remains blank after turning on the lights:

Pylon Viewer after opening the camera and starting to acquire frames shows an error for each frame:

Repair: Running the Pylon 5 setup executable and selecting Repair from the menu will fix the issue. The Pylon 5 setup executable is located in the VMS CD \Service\Basler folder. It can also be downloaded. Link to download. Pylon: https://qvii.filegenius.com/downloadPublic/x2iwn0r084d0soq
If Pylon repair does not work. Please uninstall Pylon 5, reinstall Pylon 5, and reboot the system.

The problem should be resolved. If you continue to have an issue, contact us at: Applications@viewmm.com
